I went to a great gathering last night with all of Philadelphia's top event professionals at Feastivities to learn about a book that may be produced about event designers, florists, etc. in Philly. The book is by Panache Publishing.
Panache has a similar book out now about New York. The name is Art of Celebration: The Making of a Gala - NY Style.
Ed Libby of Ed Libby and Company was there and so was Ira Levy of Levy Lighting. They both are amazingly talented and have worked on so many fabulous events, check out some of their work below....
This peacock design by Ed Libby is so cool!
And here's another design by Ed Libby...
Levy Lighting does a lot of really awesome stuff too!
Enjoy,

Keeping cool!
With all of this warm weather I have been trying to come up with a few unique ideas for my summer brides to help them and their guests stay cool through the wedding and reception. Here are a few things that I think would be fun for guests and would help to keep cool and protect them from the sun...
Margarita Ice Pops
here is the recipe;
1/2 cup tequila
6 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/4 cup coarse kosher salt
6 frozen lime-flavored ice pops or fruit bars, unwrapped
Preparation
Mix tequila and lime juice in 1-cup measuring cup. Place coarse salt in small bowl. Place all ice pops, sticks up, in deep bowl, or place 1 pop in each of 6 glasses. Pour tequila mixture over ice pops. Lightly dip 1 edge of each ice pop into coarse salt and serve.
parasols are always a nice touch!

mini sunscreen
what is more fun then an ice cream truck at your wedding or event!!!
Stay cool and enjoy the weather,

Chestnut Club
I just walked through a great new event space last week.
The space, now called the Chestnut Club, is located on Chestnut Street between 15th and 16th.
Alexander R Boyd built and opened the Arcadia Theatre there in 1915.
On April 24, 1915 the first theatre opened showing "The High Road" for 25 cents!
The space is amazing and I can't wait to work in there!
Karen Pecora is planning a Grand Opening for June! We'll keep you updated on the details!
Stay tuned for pictures!
Enjoy,

I heart Cherry Blossoms!
I don't know about you but I absolutely live for this time of year when all of the cherry blossom trees are in bloom. They create such a dream like scene all over Philadelphia. Yesterday the talented Nancy Saam sent me photos from a wedding she did last weekend with tons of cherry blossoms & other beautiful pink flowers and I had to share them with you. The amazing images captured by Sara Dicicco are to die for! Not only did she get great shots of Nancy's designs but she also shot the bride in a setting with the beauty of cherry blossom trees surrounding her and it is truly breathtaking. I hope you all enjoy these!
Have a great Wednesday,

Gabriella New York, Part 2
Good Morning Gang!
As promised, I have some amazing images from the wonderful cocktail party at Gabriella New York last Thursday. The space was so pretty and in such an awesome location which made it the perfect backdrop for the intimate gathering. The ultra creative Callahan Catering worked their magic to create fun bite size goodies including the cutest miniature soft pretzels and miniature mugs of beer and as always, their presentation was so unique! Not only was the food terrific, sweet centerpieces designed by Artfool were the perfect addition to the simple linen cloths. The party would not have been complete without the amazing sounds from Elan Artists! I was in awe of Taylor McFerrin who is one of their artists, you have to check him out along with all of their other talents musicians.
A huge THANKS to Josh at Elan Artists for the invitation & for these amazing images! It was one great party!
Enjoy,
Beka

April Showers
All the rain today got me thinking, how do people deal with rain on their wedding day?
This Seattle bride and groom really knew how to deal! Cheri Pearl, the photographer, captured some amazing pictures of this very prepared bridal party!
Here is some great inspiration for a rainy, April wedding from Green Wedding Shoes. Check them out!
Stay dry!
