Angie and Dan Finale!

We had such a great time working with Angie and Dan, they were so fun and super sweet. The lovely flowers by Beautiful Blooms and the delicate cake design by Truli Confectionary Arts really put the finishing touches on the event. Thank you to all of the wonderful people who worked to make this wedding such a success.

During the cocktail hour, Angie and Dan incorporated the Paebaek ceremony,which is a traditional Korean wedding ceremony. The outfits were so vibrant and the ceremony was fun for all of the guests.

Happy Monday!

I just received images from Angie and Dan's wedding which took place on April 25th at the Philadelphia Cricket Club and they are absolutely geogous! As always, the amazing Laura Novak captured the day perfectly and her photographs are breaktaking. There are so many great photos I am going to have to make this a 3 part post. Happy Cinco De Mayo

Celebrate with a yummy watermellon margarita!

Yield
Makes 4 servings

Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
3 1/2 cups seeded, cubed watermelon
3/4 cup tequila
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
Crushed ice
Preparation
Bring sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan, stirring until sugar dissolves; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat; cool.

Process watermelon in a blender until smooth. Combine all ingredients, and shake well.

Art of Celebration - NY Style

I went to a great gathering last night with all of Philadelphia's top event professionals at Feastivities to learn about a book that may be produced about event designers, florists, etc. in Philly. The book is by Panache Publishing.

Panache has a similar book out now about New York. The name is Art of Celebration: The Making of a Gala - NY Style.



Ed Libby of Ed Libby and Company was there and so was Ira Levy of Levy Lighting. They both are amazingly talented and have worked on so many fabulous events, check out some of their work below....

Keeping cool!

With all of this warm weather I have been trying to come up with a few unique ideas for my summer brides to help them and their guests stay cool through the wedding and reception. Here are a few things that I think would be fun for guests and would help to keep cool and protect them from the sun...



Margarita Ice Pops

here is the recipe;
1/2 cup tequila
6 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/4 cup coarse kosher salt
6 frozen lime-flavored ice pops or fruit bars, unwrapped

Preparation
Mix tequila and lime juice in 1-cup measuring cup. Place coarse salt in small bowl. Place all ice pops, sticks up, in deep bowl, or place 1 pop in each of 6 glasses. Pour tequila mixture over ice pops. Lightly dip 1 edge of each ice pop into coarse salt and serve.

Chestnut Club

I just walked through a great new event space last week.

The space, now called the Chestnut Club, is located on Chestnut Street between 15th and 16th.
Alexander R Boyd built and opened the Arcadia Theatre there in 1915.
On April 24, 1915 the first theatre opened showing "The High Road" for 25 cents!

The space is amazing and I can't wait to work in there!

Karen Pecora is planning a Grand Opening for June! We'll keep you updated on the details!
