An American Girl in Paris, Day Three/Four

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post on Thursday!  Instead of going to Versailles we rented bikes and rode around St. Germain des Pres, which is another amazing section of Paris.  Then we headed over to the Eiffel Tower where we decided to walk the 700 some odd steps to get to the second level, I guess it is ok that I haven't be to the gym this week!  I never realized how large of a city Paris is until I was at the top of the tower and the city seemed to go on forever in each direction.  It was absolutely beautiful!

After our adventure we headed back to apartment and on the way I found another amazing flower shop and couldn't help myself from taking about a million pictures, everyone must think I am totally nuts, getting down on the ground to take a picture of a plant on the sidewalk!

Versailles is planned for Friday and then on to the flea markets, my favorite part!!

An American Girl in Paris, Day Two

We had an amazing day!

We started off with breakfast at Sanserveria which is located next to Jardin des Tuileries and then headed towards the Louvre. On our way we found Velib, a public bike rental location, so after a little research we figured out how to rent them and off we rode to Le Marais. Le Marias is the cutest place, with small streets and little shops and restaurants that are so picturesque. During our stroll through the gorgeous section of Paris we came across a small wedding in a courtyard, so of course I stopped to see the bride and groom. I looked like the paparazzi trying to get a picture for this post and fianlly after a little manuvering I managed to sneak one as they were lining up for family photos. I also got a great shot of their getaway car.

We made it back to the apartment and are getting ready to head to La Donfaine de Mars for some dinner.  I will check back tomorrow after our trip to Versailles.

There's A Carnival In Town

Innove Events is thrilled to announce that we will be collaborating with The Knot and other Philadelphia vendors to help launch The Knot's annual market event! We've come up with what we think will be an amazing theme and hopefully gets guests interacting and enjoying themselves. As you can see from our inspiration board below, we've decided on a carnival theme event and we've got tons of great ideas in store! The stacked ticket centerpiece is simply adorable and the colors make for a fun and vibrant evening. We're still working on some of the details and in the midst of fine tuning everything. We've got lots of work to do at the office, but we're so excited to be a part of this!

We're still looking for great sponsors for the event's gift bags and there are plenty of other opportunities as well!

We will keep you all posted on the progression of the event. It's set for October, so we still have plenty of things to get done in a short amount of time!

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable rest of the week - Lindsay

Morris Arboretum

Yesterday I shot a segment on how to use herbs in design for a new show that is due out in October. We were on location at Morris Arboretum which is by far one of the most beautiful places within the city limits. The property is just under 100 acres and is filled with magnificent trees and gardens that make you feel as if you are in the country, but you are not, it is only a 20 minute drive from downtown and it is well worth the short trip. After we walked through the delicious herb garden, we explored a bit and found that there are so many places on the property that you can rent for weddings and other events. If you are thinking of an outdoor wedding in the Philadelphia area you have to add Morris Aboretum to the list of must sees.

A Sweet Spin on Food Trucks

A few weeks ago Daily Candy wrote an article about a Philadelphia lawyer who traded in her briefcase for baking pans and started Buttercream, a wonderful bakery on South Street. The create wonderful cupcakes and confections and deliver them straight to your door via the first and only Cupcake Truck. This truck, which was once a mail truck has been spruced up and can be found throughout Philadelphia at festivals, art galleries and soon it will be making regular stops maybe in your neighborhood. The best part is you can follow the adventures of the truck on Twitter to see where it will be popping up next.

This Friday the Cupcake truck will be at the Philly Book Co. located at 1113 Frankford Avenue, from 7:30 until they run out of cupcakes, make sure to stop by and support them!
