Fashionista Fridays!

Mad for Monique!

I am so excited to post my first fashionita friday blog...make sure to check in every friday for some of my favorite designers, trends and more. I would love to hear about your favorites too!

On my flight down to the Bahamas, I was reading through the Winter 2009 Martha Stewart Weddings and was amazed by the new Monique Lhuillier ad campaign. She is an absolute genius! The new designs are amazingly beautiful and have such great attitude. If you haven't seen them yet, I have posted them here. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

PS...check out the feather dress.....it is to die for!

notes from the road

It was another beautiful day in paradise and I am gearing up for a busy weekend full of events. Guests start arriving tomorrow and I am looking forward to our welcome dinner tomorrow evening. It has been a bit windy here so I am hoping the night is calm and all is smooth for the festivities. I worked on welcome bags and itineraries today and took a few shots of my surroundings. The weather makes me wonder why any of us live in the northeast, we must be nuts.

hope you all are having a great week so far! make sure to check in on Friday, I am so excited for my first "Fashionista Friday" post. I can't wait to share some of my favorite designers with you!

Happy Thursday,
Beka

Eggplant & Antique Gold Inspiration

I hope you liked my sister's post, she is so awesome!!! If you love home design projects you should definitely make a visit to her blog. She recently purchased an old Spanish home and is doing a total makeover. She has great style and ideas and I know everyone will be floored by the results. Just a side note to her post, I have made a request with 12 Too Many to add Philadelphia to their list of cities, so hopefully we will be up and running soon.

This past Saturday I met with a bride who is getting married in May and I am helping with ideas for design. She has chosen a beautiful dress for the bridesmaids in eggplant that is to die for and our task was to create a color palette that complimented the deep hue. After a little bit of research we settled on a combination of eggplant, antique gold, ivory and touches of green. The feeling of the wedding is chic and sophisticated but also has a bit of garden style. Check out some of the images I have gathered for inspiration and please feel free add your thoughts and ideas.

Do you have 12 Too Many?

Hello, hello. I am so honored to guest blog for my sister this week, you know how working in the Bahamas really MUST be killing her. Beka is busy… and that is the way she likes life. Last week I called her and asked if she had ever heard of a small company called Totally Tabletops Party Rentals? Well, these brilliant ladies have extended their services and the newest venture is a super trendy, craigslist-like, swapping and selling party and tableware. Basically if you have leftovers, say twelve or eighteen votives, and do not have plans to reuse them….then get rid of them by selling them on 12 Too Many!!!! Simply go to their site, look up your city, browse or make a request for whatever you are looking for. Best part, get in your car and pick it up!!! Who pays shipping anymore? Hope you find something to make your wedding dreams come true. Good luck and God Bless….

Red & Lime Inspiration

Good Morning!

Hope you had a wonderful Wednesday. Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday, I have been working on a few exciting projects that I can't wait to share with all of you. Today I wanted to share a few inspiring images for a Red & Lime wedding that I am planning this June. The ceremony is taking place outside at the bride's parent's farm and then on to their country club for the reception. We have been having so much fun choosing linens, chairs, and Friday we are going to taste the cake, one of the many perks of being a wedding planner! :) If you have any fun ideas or images, please send them to us, we love your input.

Have an amazing Thursday,
Beka

Libby's Tea Party

About a month ago I posted an inspriration board for a tea party and I am so excited to share the wonderful images from Jackie Bayne, who documented the day for me. My amazing mother-in-law opened up the Governor's Residence for the afternoon party, where 30 of us ladies got together for tea and treats. It was so much fun planning the menu and finding tea sets for the party and I had such a great time designing & arranging the flowers! A huge thanks to Nancy Saam for letting me borrow the antique silver tea pots for the arrangements and to Total Table for the amazing new linens. Check back for cute pics of the ladies!

enjoy,
Beka
